يَسْتَفْتُونَكَ قُلِ اللّهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِي الْكَلاَلَةِ إِنِ امْرُؤٌ هَلَكَ لَيْسَ لَهُ وَلَدٌ وَلَهُ أُخْتٌ فَلَهَا نِصْفُ مَا تَرَكَ وَهُوَ يَرِثُهَآ إِن لَّمْ يَكُن لَّهَا وَلَدٌ فَإِن كَانَتَا اثْنَتَيْنِ فَلَهُمَا الثُّلُثَانِ مِمَّا تَرَكَ وَإِن كَانُواْ إِخْوَةً رِّجَالاً وَنِسَاء فَلِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الأُنثَيَيْنِ يُبَيِّنُ اللّهُ لَكُمْ أَن تَضِلُّواْ وَاللّهُ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عَلِيمٌ
English Transliteration: Yastaftoonaka. Kulilleahu yufteekum feel kalealah(kalealati). Inimruun halaka laysa lahoo valad(valadun), va lahoo uhtun fa lahea nısfu mea taraak(taraaka), va huva yarisuhea in lam yakun lahea valad(valadun). Fa in keanatasnatayni fa lahumeas suluseani mimmea taraak(taraaka). Va in keanoo ıhvatan ricealan va niseaan fa liz zakari mislu haazzıl unsayayn(unsayayni). Yubayyinulleahu lakum an taadılloo vaalleahu bi kulli shay’in aaleem(aaleemun).
They ask you for a legal ruling. Say: “Allah gives you a decision concerning the kelâle (person who has neither parents nor children). If it is a man that dies leaving a sister, but no child, she shall have half of what he leaves. And he shall be her heir if she has no son. If there are two sisters, they shall have two-thirds of what he leaves; and if there are many brothers and sisters, the male will have twice the share of the female. Allah makes it clear to you lest you get lost. Allah is All-Knowing of all things”.
