وَمِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ مَنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِقِنطَارٍ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ وَمِنْهُم مَّنْ إِن تَأْمَنْهُ بِدِينَارٍ لاَّ يُؤَدِّهِ إِلَيْكَ إِلاَّ مَا دُمْتَ عَلَيْهِ قَآئِمًا ذَلِكَ بِأَنَّهُمْ قَالُواْ لَيْسَ عَلَيْنَا فِي الأُمِّيِّينَ سَبِيلٌ وَيَقُولُونَ عَلَى اللّهِ الْكَذِبَ وَهُمْ يَعْلَمُونَ
English Transliteration: Va min ahlil kiteabi man in ta’manhu bi kıntearin yuaddihee ilayk(ilayka), va minhum man in ta’manhu bi deenearin lea yuaddihee ilayka illea mea dumta aalayhi keaimea(keaiman), zealika bi annahum kealoo laysa aalaynea feel ummiyyeena sabeel(sabeelun), va yakooloona aalealleahil kaziba va hum yaa’lamoon(yaa’lamoona).
Of the People of the Book is he who, if entrusted with a heap (of gold), will readily return it back; and of them there is he who, if entrusted a single silver coin, will not repay it unless you constantly stand demanding, because they say: “There is upon us no way (no responsibility) about the illiterates”.
