An-Naml, Surah The Ants (Qur'an: Surat-27-An-Naml)
Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem
27/An-Naml-1:
Tâ-Sîn. These are the Verses of the Qur’ân which is a manifest Book.
27/An-Naml-2:
A means to deliver to Hidayet and glad tidings for the believers.
27/An-Naml-3:
Who keep up the Prayer and give alms (Az-Zakât) and they are certain to believe in the Hereafter.
27/An-Naml-4:
As to those who do not believe in the hereafter (spirit’s reaching Allah while one is still living), We have surely made their deeds fair-seeming to them, so that they blindly wander on.
27/An-Naml-5:
They are those for whom there will be an evil torment, and they will be those who will undergo the greatest Loss.
27/An-Naml-6:
And most surely the Qur’ân is delivered to you from (the Secret Knowledge of) the presence of the All-Wise, All-Knowing.
27/An-Naml-7:
Moses had said to his family: “Surely I have perceived a fire; I will bring to you from there some news, or I will bring to you a burning firebrand so that you may warm yourselves”.
27/An-Naml-8:
So when he went to it, he was called: “Blessed is whoever is in (near) the fire and whoever is round about it! And Glory be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds”!
27/An-Naml-9:
O Moses! Surely I am Allah, the All-Mighty, All-Wise (the Owner of Wisdom and Judgment).
27/An-Naml-10:
“And cast down your staff”! So (upon casting down his staff) when he saw it in motion as if it were a serpent, he turned retreating and did not look back. “O Moses! Fear not; surely the Messengers do not fear in My Presence”.
27/An-Naml-11:
Except those who do wrong. But whom ever converts his evil for good (gets his sins converted into merits after repenting before a Murshid), then surely, I am Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful (the One that manifests with His Mercy attribute).
27/An-Naml-12:
And put your hand into your bosom. Take it out immaculate white. This (miracle) is among the nine Signs to Pharaoh and his people. Surely they have become a Fâsiq (transgressing) people.
27/An-Naml-13:
When Our Verses (Signs, miracles) became visible to them, they said: “This is a manifest magic”.
27/An-Naml-14:
And though they believed in them with certainty, they denied them knowingly and arrogantly, tormenting their souls. Then look, how the end of the mischief-makers was.
27/An-Naml-15:
And certainly We gave knowledge to David and Solomon, and (they both) said: “All Praise be to Allah, Who has made us to excel many of His believing servants”.
27/An-Naml-16:
And Solomon inherited David, and he said: “O mankind! We have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given of all things; most surely this is an evident Virtue”.
27/An-Naml-17:
And the armies of the jinn and the men and the birds were gathered for Solomon, and they were formed into orders.
27/An-Naml-18:
When they came to the valley of the Ants, an ant said: “O ants! Enter your dwellings lest Solomon and his armies may not crush you, unperceiving”.
27/An-Naml-19:
So (Solomon) smiled, amused at her speech and said: “Make me successful in being grateful for Your Blessings which You have bestowed on me and on my parents and in doing improving deeds (in doing the soul’s cleansing) that will please You. And make me enter, by Your Mercy, amongst Your Improved servants.
27/An-Naml-20:
And he reviewed (inspected) the birds, then said: “How is it that I do not see the hoopoe or is it that he is of the disappeared ones”?
27/An-Naml-21:
I will most certainly torment him with a severe torment, or slaughter him, unless he brings me a plain excuse (reason, proof).
27/An-Naml-22:
And he (the hoopoe) did not stay (absent) too long, he (came up and) said: “I have grasped (learned) of a thing which you have not grasped and I have brought to you clear news from Sheba (Saba).
27/An-Naml-23:
Surely I found a woman ruling over them and she has been given of all things and she has a mighty throne.
27/An-Naml-24:
I found her and her people prostrating themselves before the sun instead of Allah and Satan has made their deeds fair-seeming to them and thus turned them away from the Way (of Allah), therefore they are not on Hidayet.
27/An-Naml-25:
How would they not prostrate themselves before Allah, who brings to light what is hidden in the heavens and the earth, and knows what you conceal and what you make manifest.
27/An-Naml-26:
That Allah, He is the Lord of the Supreme Throne. There is no god but He.
27/An-Naml-27:
(Solomon) said: “We will see whether you have told the truth or whether you are of the liars”.
27/An-Naml-28:
Take this my writing (letter) and throw it down onto them (hand it over to them), then turn away from them and see what (answer) they return.
27/An-Naml-29:
(The Queen of Sheba): “O chieftains! Surely an honorable (valuable) letter has been thrown (delivered) to me.
27/An-Naml-30:
Surely it is from Solomon, and surely (starts) is in the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful.
27/An-Naml-31:
Exalt not yourselves against me and come to me to be submitted.
27/An-Naml-32:
(The Queen of Sheba) said: “O chieftains! Give me advice respecting my affair. I never decide an affair until you bear witness (you are in my presence and give me advice)”.
27/An-Naml-33:
They said: “We are powerful and possessors of great Prowess (great ability for war) and it is for you to command, so see what you will command”.
27/An-Naml-34:
(The Queen of Sheba) said: “Surely the kings, when they enter a country, ruin (overthrow) it, and humiliate its elites. And thus they do.
27/An-Naml-35:
And surely I am going to send messengers with a present to them, and shall wait to see what the messengers bring back.
27/An-Naml-36:
So when (the envoys with the present) came to Solomon, (Solomon) said: “What! Are you helping me with wealth? What Allah has given me is better than what He has given you. Nay, you are exultant (boasting) due to your present.
27/An-Naml-37:
Go back to them, so we shall most surely come to them with armies which they shall no power to oppose, and we shall most certainly expel them there from in abasement, and they will be humiliated.
27/An-Naml-38:
(Solomon) said: “O chieftains! Which of you will bring to me her throne before they come to me in submission?
27/An-Naml-39:
Ifrît of the jinn said: “I will bring it to you before you rise up from your place. I am strongly certain for it (for realizing it)”.
27/An-Naml-40:
The one who had the knowledge from the Book (Khidr) said: “I will bring it to you before you blink your eye”. Then when (Solomon) saw it set in his presence (before him), he said: “This is a Virtue (blessing) of my Lord that he may try me whether I am grateful or ungrateful”. And whoever is grateful, he is grateful only for his own soul, and whoever is ungrateful, then surely my Lord is Self-Sufficient (Rich, Free of all needs), Honored (the Most Generous).
27/An-Naml-41:
(Solomon) said: “Alter her throne that we may see whether she will have Hidayet or whether she will not have Hidayet”.
27/An-Naml-42:
So when she came in, it was said (to her): “Was your throne like this”? She said: “It is as though it was it”. And (Solomon said) “we were given the knowledge before it and we became Muslims (submitted to Allah)”.
27/An-Naml-43:
And what she worshipped besides Allah prevented her; surely she was of a disbelieving people.
27/An-Naml-44:
It was said to her: “Enter the palace.” When she saw it, she deemed it to be a deep water, and bared her legs (tucked up her skirts). (Solomon) said: “It is a palace, made smooth, brilliant cut glass”. (The Queen of Sheba) said: “My Lord! Verily I have wronged my soul and I submitted to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds along with Solomon”.
27/An-Naml-45:
And certainly We sent to Thamud nation their brother Salih, (for them) “to become servants to Allah”. But they became two parties quarreling with each other.
27/An-Naml-46:
(Salih) said: “O my people! Why do you seek to hasten on the evil before the good? Should you not have asked forgiveness of Allah so that you may receive mercy”?
27/An-Naml-47:
They said: “You and those with you brought ill omen to us”. He said: “Your ill omen is in the presence of Allah. Nay, you are a people that are in mischief”.
27/An-Naml-48:
And there were in the city a group of nine men, who made mischief in the land, and did not improve.
27/An-Naml-49:
They said by swearing by Allah: “We should certainly make a sudden attack on him and his household by night (kill them), then say to his friends that we did not witness the destruction of his household, and we are most surely truthful (the ones who tell the truth).
27/An-Naml-50:
So they plotted a plot. And we planned a plan while they did not perceive.
27/An-Naml-51:
See, then, how was the end of their plot that We destroyed them and their people, all.
27/An-Naml-52:
Here are their dwellings fallen down because of their wrong doing! Most surely there is a Sign (proof) in this for a people who know.
27/An-Naml-53:
And We saved those who believed (who became âmenû, who wished to reach Allah before death) and (for this reason) were the owners of piety.
27/An-Naml-54:
And Lot had said to his people: “Do you come to indecency (evil) while you see it”?
27/An-Naml-55:
Do you indeed come to men lustfully rather than women? Nay, you are a people who are ignorant.
27/An-Naml-56:
But the answer of his people was no other except that they said: “Expel the household of Lot from your land surely they are a people who would like to keep pure and clean”.
27/An-Naml-57:
Then We rescued him and his family except his wife. We destined her to be of those who remained behind.
27/An-Naml-58:
And We rained on them a rain, and evil was the rain of those who had been warned.
27/An-Naml-59:
Say: “All Praises be to Allah and peace is upon His servants whom He has chosen. Is Allah better or what they associate (with Him)”?
27/An-Naml-60:
Or the One Who created the heavens and the earth, and sends down for you water from the sky? So with that We caused to grow wonderful gardens full of beauty and delight. It is not even possible for you that you make the trees thereof to grow. Another god with Allah? Nay, but they are a people who ascribe equals (to Allah)!
27/An-Naml-61:
Or the One Who made the earth as a fixed abode and placed rivers in its midst, and raised on it mountains, and placed between the two seas a curtain? Another god with Allah? Nay! Most of them do not know!
27/An-Naml-62:
Or the One Who responds to the distressed one, when he calls on Him, and Who removes the evil and makes you vicegerents in the earth? Another god with Allah? Little is that you remember?
27/An-Naml-63:
Or the One Who delivers you to Hidayet from the utter darkness of the land and the sea? The One Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings going before His Mercy? Another god with Allah? High Exalted Allah is above what they associate (with Allah)!
27/An-Naml-64:
Or the One Who creates as a first time, then brings it back and Who gives you sustenance from the heaven and the earth? Another god with Allah? Say: “Bring your evidence if you are truthful”.
27/An-Naml-65:
Say: “No one in the heavens and the earth knows the Ghaib (unseen) but Allah and they cannot perceive when they will be raised again.
27/An-Naml-66:
Nay, their knowledge about the Hereafter has been completed (the knowledge has been given to them entirely). In the contrary, they are (still) in doubt about it (the Hereafter). Nay, they are blind to it (to the signs and evidences of the Hereafter).
27/An-Naml-67:
And those who disbelieve said: “When our fathers and we have become dust? Shall we certainly be brought forth (from the earth)”?
27/An-Naml-68:
Certainly this had been promised to us and our fathers before. Verily, these are nothing but (legends) of the men of old.
27/An-Naml-69:
Say (to them): “Travel in the earth, and then see how was the end of the guilty”!
27/An-Naml-70:
And do not grieve over them, nor be in distress because of what they plot.
27/An-Naml-71:
And they say: “When is this promise, if you are truthful”?
27/An-Naml-72:
Say: “Perhaps that which you wish to hasten on, might be following you (perhaps it will reach you soon)”.
27/An-Naml-73:
And surely your Lord is the Owner of Virtue (Grace) for mankind. And most of them are not grateful.
27/An-Naml-74:
And most surely your Lord knows what their chests conceal and what they manifest.
27/An-Naml-75:
And there is nothing concealed in the heaven and the earth but it is in the Clear Book (on the Guarded Tablet).
27/An-Naml-76:
Surely this Quran narrates to the Children of Israel most of (the truths) that in which they differ.
27/An-Naml-77:
And most surely it is a Hidayet and Mercy for the believers.
27/An-Naml-78:
Surely your Lord will decide between them by His Judgment, and He is the All-Mighty, the All-Knowing.
27/An-Naml-79:
Therefore, put your trust in Allah. Surely you are on the clear truth.
27/An-Naml-80:
Surely you can not make the dead to hear nor can you make the deaf to hear the call (of Allah) when they flee, turning their backs.
27/An-Naml-81:
And nor can you make the blind reach Hidayet (turning them) out of their Misguidance.
27/An-Naml-82:
And when the Word (that Allah said in the Book) falls on them, We (shall) bring forth a Dabbeh for them from the earth that will tell them that they are not familiar with the Verses (in the Book) with certainty.
27/An-Naml-83:
And on that Day, We will gather from among those who denied (belied) Our Verses from every nation in groups, then they shall be formed (into 72 groups).
27/An-Naml-84:
When they come, (Allah) said (to them): “Did you reject (belie) My Verses whereas you did not comprehend them in knowledge? Or what was it that you did (is there any other reason)”?
27/An-Naml-85:
And the Word (of Allah) took place on them due to their wrongdoing. They can no longer speak.
27/An-Naml-86:
Did they not see that We have made the night (dark) that they may rest therein, and the day (bright)? Most surely there are Signs (proofs) in this for a people who believe.
27/An-Naml-87:
And on the Day when the Trumpet is blown, all who are in the heavens and all who are in the earth (shall) be terrified except those Allah wills. And all (shall) come to him, looking down.
27/An-Naml-88:
And you see the mountain, you deem it immovable. It moves like the clouds. It is the creation of Allah Who has made everything strong. Surely He is All-Aware of what you do.
27/An-Naml-89:
Whoever comes with good deeds (as their good deeds are more than their evil deeds), then for him there is (heaven) better than it. And they are the ones who are secure from terror on that Day of Permission (that they will not be going to hell).
27/An-Naml-90:
Whoever comes with evil deeds (as their evil deeds are more than their good deeds), they (shall) be thrown down on their faces in the Fire. Are you being punished with anything except what you used to do?
27/An-Naml-91:
I am only commanded “to become a servant to the Lord”. This city that He (Allah) has made it worthy of respect, and His are all things. And I am commanded that I should be of those who are submitted.
27/An-Naml-92:
And say: “That I should recite the Qur an. Whoever reaches Hidayet, reaches Hidayet for his own soul. And whoever remains in Misguidance, then say: I am only of the Warners”.
27/An-Naml-93:
And say: “All Praises be to Allah. He will show you His Verses so that you shall recognize them”. And your Lord is not unaware of what you do.
