Ta-Ha, Surah Ta Ha (Qur'an: Surat-20-Ta-Ha)
Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem
20/Ta-Ha-1:
Tâ-Hâ.
20/Ta-Ha-2:
We have not sent down the Qur’ân to you that you may be distressed.
20/Ta-Ha-3:
As a reminder to those who are the owners of reverence.
20/Ta-Ha-4:
Brought down from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens.
20/Ta-Ha-5:
The Most Beneficent rose over the Arsh (Beyond existence, the highest post that is only for Allah).
20/Ta-Ha-6:
His is what is in the heavens and what is in the earth and what is between the two, and what is under the damp soil.
20/Ta-Ha-7:
And if you utter the saying aloud (or not), surely He knows the secret, and what is yet more hidden (and the most hidden).
20/Ta-Ha-8:
Allah! There is no god but He. His are the most beautiful Names.
20/Ta-Ha-9:
And has the news of Moses come to you?
20/Ta-Ha-10:
When he saw a fire, he said to his family: “Stay here and wait, for surely I have seen a fire. Perhaps I can bring you therefrom a burning brand (glorious light) or find Hidayet at the fire (by that glorious light)”.
20/Ta-Ha-11:
So when he came to it (fire/glorious light), a voice was uttered: “O Moses”!
20/Ta-Ha-12:
Surely I, I am your Lord. Now put off your shoes. Surely you are in the sacred valley, Tuwâ.
20/Ta-Ha-13:
And I have chosen you, so listen to what is revealed.
20/Ta-Ha-14:
Surely I, I am Allah. There is no god but I, therefore become a servant to Me, and keep up the Prayer for My remembrance (Dhikr)!
20/Ta-Ha-15:
Surely that Hour (Doomsday) will come. For every soul to be rewarded (or punished) for its work I will almost hide it from Myself.
20/Ta-Ha-16:
Therefore let not those who do not believe in it (the Doomsday) and follow their low desires turn you away from it (belief in the Doomsday). Then you should (also) perish.
20/Ta-Ha-17:
And what is it in your right hand, O Moses?
20/Ta-Ha-18:
He said: “This is my staff, I recline (lean) on it and I beat down the leaves with it to make them fall upon my sheep and I have other uses (benefits) for it”.
20/Ta-Ha-19:
(Allah) said: “Cast it down, O Moses”!
20/Ta-Ha-20:
So he cast it down. Then it had become a serpent, moving (slithering) quickly.
20/Ta-Ha-21:
(Allah) said: “Take hold of it and do not fear! We will restore it to its former state”.
20/Ta-Ha-22:
And put your hand under your armpit. As another sign (miracle) take it out white (with glorious light) without a flaw (pure).
20/Ta-Ha-23:
That We may show you one of Our Greater Signs (Miracles).
20/Ta-Ha-24:
Go to Pharaoh! Surely he has exceeded the limits.
20/Ta-Ha-25:
(Moses) said: “My Lord! Open (split) my chest”.
20/Ta-Ha-26:
And make my affair easy to me.
20/Ta-Ha-27:
And loose the knot (remove the impediment) from my tongue.
20/Ta-Ha-28:
(That) they may understand my words.
20/Ta-Ha-29:
And appoint for me a helper from my family.
20/Ta-Ha-30:
My brother, Aaron.
20/Ta-Ha-31:
Strengthen my power by him (Increase my strength with him).
20/Ta-Ha-32:
And partner him in my affair.
20/Ta-Ha-33:
So that we much glorify You.
20/Ta-Ha-34:
And remember You (do your Dhikr) much.
20/Ta-Ha-35:
Surely, You are the One Who sees us.
20/Ta-Ha-36:
(Allah) said: “O Moses! You are indeed granted your request”.
20/Ta-Ha-37:
And certainly We had bestowed on you a Blessing at another time.
20/Ta-Ha-38:
We had revealed to your mother what had to be revealed.
20/Ta-Ha-39:
(Revealed her) to put him into the chest, then to cast it down into the sea (river). So the sea shall throw him on the shore. There shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him. And for you to be brought up before My Eye (under My Protection) I cast down upon you love from Me.
20/Ta-Ha-40:
Your sister was walking (following you) and saying (to them when they took you into the Palace): “Shall I direct you to (help you find) one who will take charge of him (nurse him and take care of him)”? So We brought you back to your mother, that her eye might be cooled (she would be content) and she should not grieve. And you had killed someone. Then We had delivered you from the grief (distress) and We tried you with various trials. Then you stayed for years among the people of Madyan. Then you came here as your destiny (within the decreed time), O Moses!
20/Ta-Ha-41:
And I have chosen you (as a Prophet) for Myself and brought you up.
20/Ta-Ha-42:
Go you and your brother with My Verses (Miracles) and do not, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance (be in a continuous Dhikr).
20/Ta-Ha-43:
Go both to Pharaoh, surely he exceeded the limits.
20/Ta-Ha-44:
Then speak to him with gentle words. So that he may deliberate (understand) or have reverence.
20/Ta-Ha-45:
(Both) said: “Our Lord! Surely we fear that he may exceed the limit against us (exaggerate) or that he may become inordinate”.
20/Ta-Ha-46:
(Allah) said: “You both don’t be afraid! Surely I am with you both; I do hear and see”.
20/Ta-Ha-47:
So go you both to him and say: “Surely we are two Messengers of your Lord. Therefore send the Children of Israel with us and do not torment them! Indeed we have brought to you a Verse (Miracle) from your Lord, and peace is on those who follow Hidayet”.
20/Ta-Ha-48:
Surely it has been revealed to us that the torment will surely come upon those who deny and turn their backs.
20/Ta-Ha-49:
(Pharaoh) said: “And who is the Lord of you two, O Moses”?
20/Ta-Ha-50:
(Moses) said: “Our Lord is He Who gives to everything its creation, then delivers to Hidayet”.
20/Ta-Ha-51:
(Pharaoh) said: “Then, what is the state of the former generations”?
20/Ta-Ha-52:
He said: “The knowledge of that is with my Lord, in a Book (Mother of the Books). My Lord never errs, nor forgets.
20/Ta-Ha-53:
It is He Who made the earth for you a bed (cradle) and opened for you in it ways and sent down water from the sky. Then We have brought forth with it pairs of various plants.
20/Ta-Ha-54:
Eat and pasture your cattle. Most surely there are Signs (proofs) in this for those endowed with understanding.
20/Ta-Ha-55:
From it We created you and there We shall send you back and from it will We bring you out once again.
20/Ta-Ha-56:
And truly We showed him all Our Verses (Miracles) but he belied and insisted (on his lie).
20/Ta-Ha-57:
(Pharaoh) said: “Have you come to us that you should drive us out of our land by your magic, O Moses”?
20/Ta-Ha-58:
So we too will produce before you magic like it, therefore make between us and you an appointment, which we should not break (neither) we nor you (in) a central place convenient (for both of us).
20/Ta-Ha-59:
(Moses) said: “Your appointed meeting is the day of the Embellishment (Festival) when the people assemble at mid-morning”.
20/Ta-Ha-60:
So Pharaoh turned (left) and devised his plot, then came.
20/Ta-Ha-61:
Moses said to them: “Woe to you! Do not forge a lie against Allah, lest He should destroy you completely by a torment and those who forged a lie always perished”.
20/Ta-Ha-62:
So they debated with one another about their affair (plot) and kept their discourse secret.
20/Ta-Ha-63:
They said: “These two are most surely magicians who wish to drive you out of your land by their magic and to destroy your clan (way, religion) that is superior”.
20/Ta-Ha-64:
(Pharaoh) said: “So devise your plot (magic), then come standing in ranks (order). And whoever gains the upper hand on that day will surely prosper (have salvation)”.
20/Ta-Ha-65:
They said: “O Moses! Will you cast (your staff), or shall we be the first who cast down”?
20/Ta-Ha-66:
(Moses) said: “Nay! (You) cast down”! Then their cords and their rods appeared to him as if they were moving fast on account of their magic.
20/Ta-Ha-67:
So Moses conceived in him a fear.
20/Ta-Ha-68:
We said: “Do not fear, surely you, you are the uppermost”.
20/Ta-Ha-69:
And cast down what is in your right hand (your staff), it shall swallow up what they have made. What they have made is only a magician’s trick and the magicians shall not have Salvation wheresoever they may come from.
20/Ta-Ha-70:
Upon that the magicians fell down prostrate. They said: “We believe in the Lord of Aaron and Moses”.
20/Ta-Ha-71:
(Pharaoh) said: “Did you believe in him before I gave you permission? Surely he is an elder (expert) of you who taught you magic, therefore I will certainly cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will certainly crucify you on the trunks of palm-trees. And certainly you will come to know which of us is more severe and more lasting in torment”.
20/Ta-Ha-72:
They said: “We would never prefer you to what has come to us of the clear miracles. Because He created us, therefore do what you are going to do. But you can only do in this world’s life”.
20/Ta-Ha-73:
Surely we believe in our Lord that He may forgive us our sins (pardon us and change our evil deeds into rewards) and the magic to which you compelled us. And Allah is better and more lasting.
20/Ta-Ha-74:
Whoever comes to his Lord being guilty, for him is surely Hell. He shall not die therein, nor shall he live.
20/Ta-Ha-75:
And whoever comes to Him as a believer and he has done improving deeds (the soul’s cleansing), then for them, for such are the high degrees.
20/Ta-Ha-76:
The Gardens of Eden, beneath which the rivers flow, where they will abide forever. And this is the Reward of those who are cleansed (cleansed and purified their soul).
20/Ta-Ha-77:
And certainly We revealed to Moses: “Travel by night with My servants, then strike (your staff) for them a dry road! Do not fear to be caught (by Pharaoh), nor worry (of being drowned in the sea)”.
20/Ta-Ha-78:
So Pharaoh pursued them with his army. Upon that the sea covered them with such covering that which (completely) covered them (drowned them).
20/Ta-Ha-79:
And Pharaoh left his people in Misguidance and hindered them (his nation) from Hidayet.
20/Ta-Ha-80:
O Children of Israel! We had delivered you from your enemy. And We made a Promise to you (in order to meet you) on the right side of the Tour (Mount Sinai), and We sent to you the Manna and the quails.
20/Ta-Ha-81:
Eat of the clean things We have given you as sustenance, and be not inordinate (ungrateful) with respect to them (what you are eating). Else My Wrath should descend on you. And those on whom My Wrath descends, they have indeed perished (they have fallen into Misguidance by following the low desires of their soul).
20/Ta-Ha-82:
And most surely I am the Most Forgiving (the One who converts their sins into merits) to those who repent (before a saint guide, the Murshid with 12 blessings) and become âmenû (the second time) (who became believers with increased Faith as the ‘Faith’ has been written in their souls’ hearts) and do improving deed (Dhikr, remembrance, the repetition of the Name of Allah) (those who do deeds that improve the soul’s heart). Then, they are delivered to Hidayet (by Me) (their spirits are made to reach Allah before death).
20/Ta-Ha-83:
And what caused you to hasten (and separate) from your people, O Moses?
20/Ta-Ha-84:
(Moses) said: “They are, they are here on my track (they are following me) and I hastened on to You (coming to You) my Lord, for Your pleasure”.
20/Ta-Ha-85:
(Allah) said: “So surely We have tried your people after you, and Sâmirî has caused them to fall into Misguidance”.
20/Ta-Ha-86:
So Moses returned to his people wrathful, sorrowing. He said: “O my people! Did not your Lord promise you a goodly promise? Did then the promise time seem to you long in coming? Or did you desire that Wrath should descend from your Lord on you? Is that why you did not fulfill your promise to me”?
20/Ta-Ha-87:
They said: “We did not break our promise to you of our own will. But we were made to bear the burdens of the (gold) ornaments of that nation. Therefore we cast them (into the fire to melt). Then did Sâmirî too”.
20/Ta-Ha-88:
So he brought forth for them a calf, a sculpture, which had a mooing sound. So they said (Sâmirî and his supporters): “This is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot”.
20/Ta-Ha-89:
Could they not see that it did not return to them an answer, and that it had no power either to harm them or to benefit them?
20/Ta-Ha-90:
And certainly Aaron had said to them before: “O my people! You are only tried by it, and surely The Most Beneficent is your Lord, therefore follow me and obey my order”.
20/Ta-Ha-91:
They said: “We will by no means cease to keep to its worship until Moses returns to us”.
20/Ta-Ha-92:
(Moses) said: “O Aaron! What prevented you (from warning them) when you saw them falling into Misguidance”?
20/Ta-Ha-93:
Why did not you follow me? Did you then rebel against my order?
20/Ta-Ha-94:
(Aaron) said: “O son of my mother! Do not seize me by my beard, or by my head. Surely I was afraid that you should say: “You have caused a division (disagreement, enmity) among the Children of Israel and you have not observed (carried out) my word”.
20/Ta-Ha-95:
(He) said: “Then, O Sâmirî, what was your address (to them) (what did you say to them)”?
20/Ta-Ha-96:
(Sâmirî) said: “I saw what they did not see. I took a handful (of the dirt) from where the Messenger (Gabriel) stepped and flung it (into melted metal) thus did my soul make it fair-seeming to me”.
20/Ta-Ha-97:
(Moses) said: “Go away at once! Surely for you it will be in this life to say: ‘Do not touch (me)’. Surely there is a promise (punishment) for you, which shall not be made to fail, and look at your (so-called) god to whose worship you kept persistently! We will certainly burn it, then we will certainly scatter its ash, scattering in the sea”.
20/Ta-Ha-98:
Your God is only Allah, there is no god but He. He comprehends (surrounds) all things in (His) Knowledge.
20/Ta-Ha-99:
Thus do We relate to you of the news of what has gone before. And indeed We have given to you a Reminder (the Qur’ân) from Our Presence.
20/Ta-Ha-100:
Whoever turns aside from it, he shall surely bear a burden (the degrees that he has lost) on the Day of Resurrection.
20/Ta-Ha-101:
Abiding (forever) in this (in the torment that heavy burden will bring), and evil indeed will it be that (heavy) burden for them on the Day of Resurrection.
20/Ta-Ha-102:
On that Day the Trumpet shall be blown. And We will gather the guilty, turned black-and-blue, on that Day.
20/Ta-Ha-103:
They will speak in a very low voice to each other (saying). “You stayed (in the world) not longer than ten (days)”.
20/Ta-Ha-104:
We know best what they say, when the one who is similar to them in respect of the way will say: “You stayed no longer than a day”.
20/Ta-Ha-105:
And they ask you about the mountain(s). Say: “My Lord will crush them to fine dust and toss”.
20/Ta-Ha-106:
He will leave it (the place of the mountains) as a leveled plain.
20/Ta-Ha-107:
You shall not see therein (in the place of the mountains) any crookedness or unevenness (lowness and highness).
20/Ta-Ha-108:
On the Day of Permission they shall follow the Caller in whom there is no crookedness and the voices will be hushed before the Most Beneficent so that you shall hear no sound but a light whisper.
20/Ta-Ha-109:
On the Day of Permission no intercession shall avail except of him whom the Most Beneficent allows and whose word He is well pleased with (the owner of the Consent of Control).
20/Ta-Ha-110:
(Allah) knows what is before them (their future) and what is behind them (their past), while they do not comprehend it with (their) knowledge.
20/Ta-Ha-111:
And the faces (every one) humbled themselves before the Ever Living, the Self-Subsistent (Allah). And those who bore (a burden of) wrongdoing were indeed perished (entitled to hell).
20/Ta-Ha-112:
And whoever does improving deeds (that improve the soul’s heart) being a believer (as Faith has been written into their hearts), let them have no fear of injustice (wrongdoing) nor of the withholding of his due (of the curtailment of the degrees that they earned).
20/Ta-Ha-113:
And thus have We sent it down as an Arabic Qur’ân and have explained therein in detail of promises so that they may become the owners of piety or it may be a reminder for them.
20/Ta-Ha-114:
Supremely Exalted is therefore Allah, the King, the Truth. And do not make haste with the Qur’ân before its revelation is made complete to you. And say: “My Lord! Increase me in knowledge”.
20/Ta-Ha-115:
And indeed We gave a covenant to Adam, but he forgot. And We did not find him determined.
20/Ta-Ha-116:
And We had said to the angels: “Prostrate yourselves to Adam”! They prostrated themselves except Iblîs (Lucifer). He (Lucifer) resisted (did not prostrate).
20/Ta-Ha-117:
So We said: “O Adam! This (Satan) is indeed an enemy to you and to your wife. Therefore let him not drive you both from heaven so that you should be distressed (unhappy)”.
20/Ta-Ha-118:
Surely there is neither hunger nor nakedness in it (heaven).
20/Ta-Ha-119:
And that you shall not be thirsty in it nor shall you feel the heat of the sun.
20/Ta-Ha-120:
Then Satan whispered to him. He said: “O Adam! Shall I lead you to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that will never come to an end”?
20/Ta-Ha-121:
Upon that they both ate of it (from the tree), and so their private parts became manifest to them. They both began to cover themselves with leaves of heaven and Adam rebelled against (disobeyed) his Lord, and went astray.
20/Ta-Ha-122:
Then his Lord chose him, so He accepted his repentance and delivered him to Hidayet.
20/Ta-Ha-123:
(Allah) said: “Go down, both of you, therefrom. All (Satan and you) being an enemy one to another. After that there will surely come to you Hidayet from Me. Then whoever follows My Hidayet, he shall not remain in Misguidance nor shall be unhappy”.
20/Ta-Ha-124:
And whoever turns away from My Reminder (Dhikr) assuredly for him is a straitened life and We will raise him up blind on the Day of Resurrection.
20/Ta-Ha-125:
He said (on the Day of Resurrection): “My Lord! Why have You raised me up blind? I was a seeing one indeed (before, in my life-time)”.
20/Ta-Ha-126:
(Allah) said: “Like this; Our Signs came to you, but you forgot them. And thus will you this Day be forgotten”.
20/Ta-Ha-127:
And thus do We punish those who are wasteful (who exceed the limits) and do not believe in the Verses of their Lord. And certainly the torment of the Hereafter is severer and more lasting.
20/Ta-Ha-128:
Did not they still reach Hidayet? Although so many generations We destroyed before them as they walk among their dwellings. Most surely there are Signs in this for those endowed with understanding (what Allah prohibits).
20/Ta-Ha-129:
And if there had not been Word already gone forth from your Lord and an appointed term, it (a punishment) would surely have been necessary to them.
20/Ta-Ha-130:
Then bear them patiently what they say! And glorify your Lord by the praising of Him before the rising of the sun and before its setting, and during hours of the night. And do also glorify (Him) throughout the day. It is hoped that you may reach the Divine Consent.
20/Ta-Ha-131:
And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to some of them, its being but the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.
20/Ta-Ha-132:
And enjoin the Prayer on your family (and your followers) and be patient on it (the prayer). We do not ask you for subsistence. We do give your subsistence, and the (best) end is for the pious (the owners of piety, Takwâ).
20/Ta-Ha-133:
And they said: “Why does he not bring to us a Verse from his Lord? Has not there come to them a clear evidence of what is in the previous pages”?
20/Ta-Ha-134:
And if We had destroyed them with a torment before this, they would certainly have said: “Our Lord! If only You had sent to us a Messenger, we should certainly have followed Your Verses, before we were humiliated and disgraced”.
20/Ta-Ha-135:
Say: “Everyone is awaiting, therefore you wait as well! So you will come to know who is the follower of the Sıratı Seviyye (Sıratı Mustakîm) and who has attained Hidayet”.
