« Al-Baqarah »
« Verse-189 »
English Transliteration: Yas’aloonaka aanil ahillah(ahillati), kul hiya maveakeetu lin neasi val haacc(haaccı), va laysal birru bi an ta’tool buyoota min zuhoorihea va leakinnal birra manittakea, va’tool buyoota min abveabihea, vattakoolleaha laaallakum tuflihoon(tuflihoona).
They ask you about the crescent moons. Say: “These are signs to mark fixed periods of time and the pilgrimage for mankind”. And it is not Al-Birr (righteous deed that makes one worthy of Paradise) that you enter the houses from their backs (as they used to during the period of Ignorance) but Al-Birr is what makes one pious (the owner of piety, “takvâ”) So enter the houses through their proper doors, and become pious.
