18/Al-Kahf-1: Al haamdulilleahillazee anzala aalea aabdihil kiteaba va lam yac'aal lahu ıvacea(ıvacan)., 18/Al-Kahf-2: Kaayyiman li yunziraa ba'san shadeedan min ladunhu va yubashshiral mu'mineenallazeena yaa'maloonas sealiheati anna lahum acran haasanea(haasanan)., 18/Al-Kahf-3: Meakiseena feehi abadea(abadan).
Al-Kahf, Surah The Cave (Qur'an: Surat-18-Al-Kahf)
Bismillaah ir rahmaan ir raheem
18/Al-Kahf-1:
Praise is due to Allah, Who has sent down to His servant the Book (the Qur’ân) and has not made in it any crookedness.
18/Al-Kahf-2:
(The Qur’ân is sent) to give the warning of severe torment from His presence and give glad tidings to the believers who do improving deeds that for them there is a goodly reward as an ever lasting (until the Day of Resurrection) book.
18/Al-Kahf-3:
They are the ones who will dwell in it forever.
18/Al-Kahf-4:
And (the glorious Qur’ân) warns those who say: “Allah has begotten a child.”
18/Al-Kahf-5:
They have no knowledge of it (that Allah would not have begotten a child), nor had their fathers (ancestors). Too great is the word that comes out of their mouths! They utter nothing but a lie.
18/Al-Kahf-6:
You will almost ruin yourself with grief, sorrowing after them, if they do not believe in this announcement (in the Qur’ân).
18/Al-Kahf-7:
Surely We have made whatever is on the earth an embellishment for it, so that We may try them as to which of them is best in deeds.
18/Al-Kahf-8:
And most surely We are the One who will make what is on it (the earth) a bare dry soil.
18/Al-Kahf-9:
Or, did you consider that Ashabel Kehf and Rakim (the Companions of the Cave and the Inscription) were one of Our strange Verses?
18/Al-Kahf-10:
When the youths sought refuge in the Cave, they said: “Our Lord! Grant us a mercy from Your Presence and appoint for us a Murshid (saint guide) in our affair (from among us, the one who will deliver us the mercy and the benediction that belong to us from your Command).”
18/Al-Kahf-11:
So We caused them to lie down (to go in to a deep sleep) on their ears (so that they might hear the Dhikr of their hearts) in the Cave for a number of years.
18/Al-Kahf-12:
Then We raised them up (from their sleep) that We might know (and let know) which of the two parties was best able to calculate the time for which they remained.
18/Al-Kahf-13:
We relate to you their news with the truth. Surely they were youths who believed in their Lord and We increased Hidayet for them.
18/Al-Kahf-14:
We established a nexus with their hearts (We connected their hearts to us). When they stood up they said: “Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We shall never call upon any god besides Him. For then indeed we should have said an extravagant thing as doing wrong”.
18/Al-Kahf-15:
This is our nation. They have taken gods besides Him even though a clear proof (Sultan) was not sent to them. And who does more wrong than he who forges a lie against Allah?
18/Al-Kahf-16:
And when you depart from them not serving anything other than Allah, seek refuge in the cave! Your Lord will extend to you His Mercy and make easy for you your affair as a support.
18/Al-Kahf-17:
And you see the sun when it rose declining to the right hand from their Cave and when it set turning away from them to the left hand while they were in a wide space of it (the cave). This is of the Signs (miracles) of Allah. Whomsoever Allah causes to reach Himself he has attained to Hidayet. And Whomsoever Allah causes to remain in Misguidance (whoever does not wish to reach Allah before death), for him there is no “Walî Murshidâ” (the friend who will make him reach Irshâd).
18/Al-Kahf-18:
And you would think them awake whereas they were asleep. And We turn them about to the right and to the left while their dog outstretching his two forelegs at the entrance (of the Cave). If you had looked at them (closely), you would certainly have turned back from them in flight and would certainly have been filled with terror of them.
18/Al-Kahf-19:
And thus did We rouse them (woke them up) that they might question each other. A speaker from among them said: “How long have you remained?” They said: “For a day or a part of a day.” (Others) said: “Your Lord knows best how long you have remained.” Now send one of you with this silver coin of yours to the city, then let him see what food is purest there, so let him bring you provision from it and let him behave with care and gentleness and let no man know of you (and by no means make your existence known to any one).
18/Al-Kahf-20:
For surely if they are victorious against you they would stone you or force you back to their religion. Then you can never have Salvation.
18/Al-Kahf-21:
And thus did We notified them (dwellers of the city), that they might know that Allah’s Promise is true and that as for the Hour (Doomsday), there is no doubt about it. They were disputing among themselves about their affair. They said: “Erect an edifice over them”. Their Lord best knows them. Those who prevailed in their affair said: “We will certainly raise a Masjid over them”.
18/Al-Kahf-22:
And making conjectures without knowing at what is unknown, they will say: “(They are) three, the fourth of them being their dog”. They will say: “Five, the sixth of them being their dog”. And they will say: “Seven and the eighth of them is their dog”. Say: “Allah best knows their number, none of them knows except a few”. Do not argue about them except with an obvious (known) argument! Do not inquire about them asking (to explain) one of them!
18/Al-Kahf-23:
And do not say of anything: “Surely I will do it tomorrow”.
18/Al-Kahf-24:
(Say: I will do it) if Allah wills. And remember your Lord when you forget and say: “I hope my Lord makes me reach a nearer (more superior) level of Irshad (immaterial maturity) than this”.
18/Al-Kahf-25:
And they remained in their Cave three hundred years, and exceeded by nine.
18/Al-Kahf-26:
Say: “Allah knows best how long they remained”. To Him belongs the Unseen of the heavens and the earth. He sees and hears it (the Unseen) the best. There is none to be a friend for them besides Him. He does not make any one His associate in His Judgment.
18/Al-Kahf-27:
Read what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord! There is none who can alter His Word. And you cannot find anyone to be turned to besides Him.
18/Al-Kahf-28:
And keep your soul patiently with those who call on their Lord morning and evening seeking His Face (His Essence). Let not your eyes pass from them desiring the adornments of the life of the world. Do not obey those whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance (Dhikr) and who follows their low desires and their affair is one in which due bounds are exceeded.
18/Al-Kahf-29:
Say: “The truth is from your Lord”. So whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him disbelieve. Surely We have prepared for the wrong-doers a Fire whose edges shall encompass them (the disbelievers) about. And if they ask for a rain (against the fire) they shall be showered with water like boiling, thick, melted brass which will scald their faces; evil is the drink and wretched friend (helper)!
18/Al-Kahf-30:
Surely those who believe (those who wish to have their spirits to reach Allah before death) and do improving deeds (cleanse the souls), We do not waste the reward (merit) of those who do the best deeds.
18/Al-Kahf-31:
These it is for whom are Gardens of Eden under which the rivers flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold. They shall wear green garments of fine silk and brocade, reclining therein on thrones. How excellent the reward and how beautiful a support!
18/Al-Kahf-32:
Give them the example of two men. For one of them We made two gardens of grape vines and We surrounded them both with date–palms and in the midst of them We made crops.
18/Al-Kahf-33:
Both these gardens produced their fruits and did not fall short thereof in anything. We caused a river to gush forth in their midst.
18/Al-Kahf-34:
And he possessed much wealth (too) so he said to his friend while he conversed with him: “I am more than you in wealth and mightier in respect of men (family members).
18/Al-Kahf-35:
And wronging his soul, he entered his garden. He said: “I do not think that this will ever perish”.
18/Al-Kahf-36:
And I do not believe that the Hour (Doomsday) will ever come. And even if I am returned to my Lord, I will most certainly find a returning place better than this.
18/Al-Kahf-37:
His friend said to him while he was conversing with him: “Do you reject (Allah) Who created you out of dust, then out of a small seed (a sperm-drop) and then fashioned you into a man”?
18/Al-Kahf-38:
But as for me: ‘He, Allah is my Lord and I do not associate anyone with my Lord’.
18/Al-Kahf-39:
Should you not have said, when you entered your garden: “(This vineyard is) that which Allah wills. There is no power but Allah”. Even though you consider me to be inferior to you in wealth and children.
18/Al-Kahf-40:
Maybe my Lord may give me better than your garden, and send down on it (your garden) calamities from the sky, then it becomes a slippery earth.
18/Al-Kahf-41:
Or the waters thereof (of the gardens) should sink down into the ground so that you have no power to have it.
18/Al-Kahf-42:
His crops were ruined. The tents were fallen (on the garden). He was rubbing his hands for what he had spent on it (effort and money), and saying: “Oh, I wish I had not associated with my Lord anyone”.
18/Al-Kahf-43:
And he had no one to help him besides Allah. And he was not the one who was helped.
18/Al-Kahf-44:
Now here, the friendship (help) is a right due to Allah. He is the Best in (the giving of) reward and the Best for the final end (in requiting).
18/Al-Kahf-45:
Give them an example of the life of the world that it is like water which We send down from the sky. The vegetation of the earth mingled (grew) with it. Then it became dry, crumbled into pieces that the wind scatters abroad. And Allah has Power over all things.
18/Al-Kahf-46:
Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. The lasting improving deeds (that improve the soul) are better with your Lord in reward and better in expectation.
18/Al-Kahf-47:
And on that Day We will move the mountains and you see the earth clearly. And We will gather them all together and leave not out any one of them.
18/Al-Kahf-48:
They (shall) be brought before your Lord, standing in ranks. Now certainly you have come to Us as We created you at first. Nay, you assumed that We would not fulfill the Promise you were given.
18/Al-Kahf-49:
And the Book (the life film) is placed (exposed) in the middle. Then you see the guilty ones. Fearing from what is in it (the book), and they say: “Woe to us! What a book is this! It does not omit a small one nor a great one, but calculates them all”. And what they had done they found it exposed before them (in their life films). And your Lord does not wrong anyone.
18/Al-Kahf-50:
And We had said to the angels: “Prostrate yourselves before Adam”. They prostrated themselves immediately, except Iblîs (Lucifer). He was one of the jinn. So he transgressed the Command of His Lord. Do you still then take him and his offspring for friends rather than Me, (whereas) they are your enemies? What an evil exchange (Hell) for the wrong–doers!
18/Al-Kahf-51:
I did not make them (Lucifer and his offspring) witnesses of the creation of the heavens and the earth, nor of the creation of their own souls; nor I took those who leave (others) in Misguidance as helpers.
18/Al-Kahf-52:
And on that Day (of Resurrection) (Allah) shall say: “Call on those whom you assumed to be My associates”. So they shall call on them, but they shall not answer them (the disbelievers), and We will set an impediment between them.
18/Al-Kahf-53:
And the guilty saw the Fire (Hell). Then they considered (understood) that they are going to fall into it, and they could not find a place to which to turn away (escape) from it.
18/Al-Kahf-54:
And certainly We have explained in this Qur’ân every kind of matter (examples) to mankind. And mankind has ever been, most of anything, prone to dispute.
18/Al-Kahf-55:
And what prevents men from believing when Hidayet comes to them (when they are invited to Hidayet), and from asking forgiveness from their Lord, is that what happened to the ancients did not overtake them, or that the torment did not come face to face with them.
18/Al-Kahf-56:
We do not send Messengers except as givers of glad tidings and as Warners. Those who disbelieve (however) dispute with false argument, in order to refute the truth, and they take My Verses and that with which they are warned for a mockery.
18/Al-Kahf-57:
Who is more unjust than he who is reminded of the Verses of his Lord, then he turns away from them and forgets what his two hands have sent before (his sins)? Surely We have placed a covering (Ekinnet) over their hearts lest they should understand it and a heaviness (that hinders from hearing) in their ears. If you call them to Hidayet, even then they will never attain Hidayet.
18/Al-Kahf-58:
Your Lord is the Owner of Forgiveness and Mercy. Were He to question them, He would certainly have hastened the torment for them. No, for them there is an appointed time. They shall not find a refuge with other than Him (Allah).
18/Al-Kahf-59:
And these countries (population), We destroyed them when they did wrong. And We appointed a fixed time for their destruction.
18/Al-Kahf-60:
And Moses had said to his young company: “I will continue my way until I reach the junction of the two seas or I will go on for years (for a long time)”.
18/Al-Kahf-61:
So when they had reached the junction of the two (seas) they both forgot their fish, and it took its way into the sea.
18/Al-Kahf-62:
So when they had gone further (beyond that meeting place), (Moses) said to his young company: “Bring to us our breakfast, certainly we have met with fatigue from our journey”.
18/Al-Kahf-63:
(The young one) said: “Did you see when we took refuge on the rock, then I truly forgot the fish, none but Satan made me forget to remember it, and it took its way into the sea in a strange way”.
18/Al-Kahf-64:
(Moses) said: “This is what we have been seeking for”. So they returned retracing their footsteps.
18/Al-Kahf-65:
Then they found one of Our servants whom We had granted Mercy from Our Presence and whom We had taught knowledge from Our Secret Knowledge (Ilm-i Ledun).
18/Al-Kahf-66:
Moses said to him: “May I depend on you so that you may teach me of what you have been taught from the secret knowledge in order that I may reach Rushd (the Immaterial Maturity)”.
18/Al-Kahf-67:
(Khidr) said: “Surely you cannot have patience (for the events that will happen) when you are in my yolk”.
18/Al-Kahf-68:
And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge as it is not given to you?
18/Al-Kahf-69:
(Moses) said: “If Allah wills, you will find me patient and I shall not rebel against you in any matter under your yolk”.
18/Al-Kahf-70:
(Khidr) said: “If you depend on me, then do not question me about any thing until I myself speak to you about it”.
18/Al-Kahf-71:
So they both proceeded. When they embarked the ship, he made a hole in it. (Moses) said: “Have you made a hole in it to drown its inmates? Certainly you have done a grievous thing”.
18/Al-Kahf-72:
(Khidr) said: “Did I not say that you will not be able to have patience with me”?
18/Al-Kahf-73:
(Moses) said: “Do not rebuke me for what I forgot and do not constrain me to a difficult thing in your commands”.
18/Al-Kahf-74:
Then they both proceeded, till they met a boy and (Khidr) killed him. (Moses) said: "Have you killed a pure soul for other than (having killed) a soul? Certainly you have made an extremely evil thing (contrary to Divine Law)”.
18/Al-Kahf-75:
(Khidr) said: “Did I not say to you that you will not be able to have patience with me”?
18/Al-Kahf-76:
(Moses) said: “If I ask you about anything after this, do not keep me in your company; indeed you shall have (then) reached an (acceptable) excuse from me (for you not keeping me in your company)”.
18/Al-Kahf-77:
Then they both proceeded, till, when they came to the people of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused to accept them as guests. Then they found a wall which was on the point of collapsing, so (Khidr) set it up straight. (Moses) said: “If you had wished, surely, you could have taken a wage for it”.
18/Al-Kahf-78:
(Khidr) said: “This shall be separation between me and you. Now I will inform you of the significance (interpretation) of that with which you could not have patience”.
18/Al-Kahf-79:
As for the ship, it belonged to poor people who worked on the sea and I wished to make a defective damage in it, as there was behind them a king who seized every ship by force.
18/Al-Kahf-80:
And as for the boy, his parents were believers and we feared lest he should drag them into rebellion and disbelief.
18/Al-Kahf-81:
So we intended that their Lord should substitute for them one better than him in purity and nearer to mercy.
18/Al-Kahf-82:
And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was under it a treasure belonging to them, and their father was an improved one (Sâlih). So your Lord desired that they should attain their age of full maturity and take out their treasure, as a mercy from their Lord, and I did not do it of my own command (but the command of Allah). This is the significance (interpretation) of that with which you could not have patience.
18/Al-Kahf-83:
And they ask you about “Dhû’l-Qarnain”. Say: “I shall relay (explain) to you by mentioning him”.
18/Al-Kahf-84:
Surely We made him strong in the earth and granted him means of access to everything.
18/Al-Kahf-85:
So he followed a course (He set out).
18/Al-Kahf-86:
When he reached the setting place of the sun, he found it setting in a spring of murky water, and found by it a people. We said: “O Dhû’l-Qarnain! Either you torment them, or treat them with kindness”.
18/Al-Kahf-87:
(Dhû’l-Qarnain) said: “As for him who does wrong, we shall torment him, then he shall be returned to his Lord, and He will torment him with a fearsome torment”.
18/Al-Kahf-88:
And as for him who believes (who wishes to reach Allah before death) and does improving deeds (that cleanse the soul), then for him there is the best reward (heaven and the worldly happiness) and We will speak to him (carry out for him) of Our Command what is easy.
18/Al-Kahf-89:
Then he followed a course (He set off).
18/Al-Kahf-90:
When he reached the land of the rising of the sun, he found it rising on a people to whom We had given no shelter from it.
18/Al-Kahf-91:
So that We surrounded (with Our Knowledge) all that was with him (all the events that had happened), being All-Informed.
18/Al-Kahf-92:
Then he followed (another) course (He set off).
18/Al-Kahf-93:
When he reached between the two Barriers, he found aside from those two (nations) a people who could hardly understand a speech.
18/Al-Kahf-94:
They said: “O Dhû’l-Qarnain! Verily Ya’jûj and Ma’jûj (Gog and Magog) make mischief in the earth. Shall we then pay you a tribute that you should raise a barrier between us and them”?
18/Al-Kahf-95:
(Dhû’l-Qarnain) said: “That in which my Lord has strengthened (supported) me is better. Therefore, (you) only help me with a force. I will make a fortified barrier between you and them”.
18/Al-Kahf-96:
“Bring me blocks of iron. When the space between the two mountain sides is leveled, blow (with your bellows)”. When he had made it fire, he said: “Bring me molten copper which I may pour over it”.
18/Al-Kahf-97:
So they shall not be able to pass over it nor could they make a hole in it.
18/Al-Kahf-98:
(Dhû’l Qarnain) said: “This is a mercy from my Lord, but when the Promise of my Lord comes to pass, He will make it level with the ground, and the Promise of my Lord is ever true”.
18/Al-Kahf-99:
And on the Day of Permission We left them mixed to each other and the Trumpet was blown. Then We gathered them altogether.
18/Al-Kahf-100:
And We presented Hell, on the Day of Permission before the disbelievers as a severe presentation.
18/Al-Kahf-101:
They whose eyes were under a cover from My Remembrance (Dhikr), and they could not hear (Me).
18/Al-Kahf-102:
Did those who disbelieve think that My servants would be taking other friends besides Me? Surely We have prepared Hell as an offering (dwelling place) for the disbelievers.
18/Al-Kahf-103:
Say: “Shall we inform you of the greatest losers in deeds”?
18/Al-Kahf-104:
They whose work (deeds) is deviated in the life of the world (the degrees that they have lost are more than the degrees that they have earned) and they reckoned that they were doing good deeds.
18/Al-Kahf-105:
These are they who denied the Verses of their Lord and reaching Him (the spirit’s reaching Allah before death). So their deeds became vain and therefore We will not set up a scale for them on the Day of Resurrection.
18/Al-Kahf-106:
Hell is their recompense for what they concealed and held My Verses and My Messengers in mockery.
18/Al-Kahf-107:
Those who believe (those who wish to reach Allah before death) and do improving deeds (the soul’s cleansing), their place of entertainment shall be the Gardens of Al-Firdaus.
18/Al-Kahf-108:
Where they shall dwell forever, they shall not desire to leave from there.
18/Al-Kahf-109:
Say: “If the seas were ink for (writing) the Words of my Lord, the seas would surely be consumed before the Words of my Lord are exhausted, even if We were to bring the like of that for its aid”.
18/Al-Kahf-110:
Say: “I am only a human being like you. It is revealed to me that your God is One God, therefore whoever wishes to reach Allah (before death) let him do improving deeds (the soul’s cleansing) and let him not associate anyone with Him in the worship of his Lord”.
