27/An-Naml-14: And though they believed in them with certainty, they denied them knowingly and arrogantly, tormenting their souls. Then look, how the end of the mischief-makers was.
27/An-Naml-15: And certainly We gave knowledge to David and Solomon, and (they both) said: “All Praise be to Allah, Who has made us to excel many of His believing servants”.
27/An-Naml-16: And Solomon inherited David, and he said: “O mankind! We have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given of all things; most surely this is an evident Virtue”.
27/An-Naml-17: And the armies of the jinn and the men and the birds were gathered for Solomon, and they were formed into orders.
27/An-Naml-18: When they came to the valley of the Ants, an ant said: “O ants! Enter your dwellings lest Solomon and his armies may not crush you, unperceiving”.
27/An-Naml-19: So (Solomon) smiled, amused at her speech and said: “Make me successful in being grateful for Your Blessings which You have bestowed on me and on my parents and in doing improving deeds (in doing the soul’s cleansing) that will please You. And make me enter, by Your Mercy, amongst Your Improved servants.
27/An-Naml-20: And he reviewed (inspected) the birds, then said: “How is it that I do not see the hoopoe or is it that he is of the disappeared ones”?
27/An-Naml-21: I will most certainly torment him with a severe torment, or slaughter him, unless he brings me a plain excuse (reason, proof).
27/An-Naml-22: And he (the hoopoe) did not stay (absent) too long, he (came up and) said: “I have grasped (learned) of a thing which you have not grasped and I have brought to you clear news from Sheba (Saba).
