9/At-Tawbah-123: O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! Fight those of the disbelievers who are the nearest to you and let them find in you hardness. And know that Allah is with those who are Al-Muttaqûn (the pious, the owners of Takwa).
9/At-Tawbah-124: And whenever a Sûrah (a chapter of the Qur’ân) is sent down, there are some of them who say: “Which of you has it strengthened in Faith”? Then as for those who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death), it strengthens them in Faith and they give glad tidings to each other (rejoice).
9/At-Tawbah-125: And as for those in whose hearts is a disease (of doubt, disbelief and hypocrisy) it adds uncleanness (disbelief, doubt and hypocrisy) to their uncleanness and they die while they are disbelievers.
9/At-Tawbah-126: Do they not see that they are tried once or twice in every year? Yet they do not repent (turn to Allah) nor do they remember (repeat the Name of Allah).
9/At-Tawbah-127: Whenever a Sûrah (a chapter) is sent down, they cast glances at one another and ask: “Has anyone seen you”? Then they turn away. Allah has turned away their hearts because they are a people who do not understand.
9/At-Tawbah-128: Certainly a mighty Messenger has come to you from among yourselves. Grievous to him is your falling into distress. He is very concerned over you and to the believers is kind and compassionate.
9/At-Tawbah-129: Now if they turn away after this, say: “Allah is Sufficient for me, there is no god but He. In Him I put my trust and He is the Lord of the Mighty Throne”.
