9/At-Tawbah-80: Ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them. Even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times, Allah will not forgive them. This is because they disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger. And Allah does not deliver the transgressing people to Hidayet (Guidance).
9/At-Tawbah-81: Those who stayed behind (disbelievers) rejoiced at their staying and sitting opposing the Messenger of Allah. They were averse from striving and fighting in the Way of Allah with their property and their souls (lives). And said: “Do not go to war in the heat”. Say: “The Fire of Hell is more intense in heat”. If only they could understand!
9/At-Tawbah-82: So let them laugh a little and cry much as a recompense of what they used to earn.
9/At-Tawbah-83: Therefore if Allah brings you back to a party of them (disbelievers), and then ask your permission to go forth, say: “By no means shall you ever go forth with me and by no means shall you fight an enemy with me; surely you were pleased to sit still the first time, therefore sit still with those who remained behind”.
9/At-Tawbah-84: Never offer prayer for any of them who dies, and do not stand by his grave. Because they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were Fâsiqûn (they were not in the Way of Allah).
9/At-Tawbah-85: And let not their property and their children impress you. Allah only wishes to torment them with these (property and children) in this world and their souls to depart while they are disbelievers.
9/At-Tawbah-86: And when a Surah was revealed (enjoining them) to believe in Allah (to wish to reach Allah before death) and to fight along with His Messenger, those of wealth among them asked your permission and said, “Leave us to be with those who sit”.
