9/At-Tawbah-48: Indeed they had plotted sedition (Fitnah) before and upset matters for you until the truth came. And Allah’s Commandment prevailed although they hated it.
9/At-Tawbah-49: And one of them says: “Give me leave and do not push me to sedition”. Surely, they have fallen into sedition, have they not? And indeed, Hell is encompassing the disbelievers.
9/At-Tawbah-50: If good befalls you, it grieves them, and if a disaster befalls you, they say: “We took indeed our precautions beforehand, and they turn back while they are rejoicing”.
9/At-Tawbah-51: Say: “Nothing befalls us except that which Allah has written for us. He is our Friend (Maulâ)”. And in Him let the believers put their trust.
9/At-Tawbah-52: Say: Do you wait for us except one of the two best things? And we (too) await for you that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands. So you wait (too). We too are waiting with you.
9/At-Tawbah-53: Say: “Spend willingly or unwillingly, it shall not be accepted from you”; surely you have been a Fâsikun (transgressing) people.
9/At-Tawbah-54: And what prevents their expenditures from being accepted from them but that they have disbelieved in Allah and in His Messenger and that they come not to prayer except while they are lazy and that they do not spend except while they are unwilling.
